Image Matrix Tech on Sky News: AirTags saving luggage

0

In Sunday’s segment on Sky News Australia (Weekend Edition with Jaynie Seal) we looked at how Apple AirTags are helping travellers track down lost luggage. Although other trackers like Tile have been around for some time, AirTags have really changed the game due to the number of devices, not just phones, that are part Find My system.

So with AirTags already helping travellers to reunite with lost baggage – should you considered them as part of your travel costs? They are $45 AUD each.

M2 MACBOOK AIR IS A PRO

Apple announced a new MacBook Pro 13-inch and MacBook Air at WWDC. Both have the new M2 chip but overall the MacBook Air is a more compelling product for most people. The new 13-inch MacBook Pro has the same body as the M1 version while the Air gets a fresh look and matches the Pro 13-inch in many performance areas – beating it in many.

M2 MacBook Air starts at: $1899 AUD and the 13-inch M2 MacBook Pro starts at: $1999

MICROSOFT SURFACE LAPTOP GO 2

On the Windows side, Microsoft has launched the Surface Laptop Go 2. The ultra portable (Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD) starts at $1,199 AUD. I’m a big fan of the original. This is a tiny laptop – perfect for study and travel. Great keyboard for a small laptop too. It has a fingerprint reader in power button, 12.4” PixelSense™ touch display and an improved HD camera and dual Studio Mics. It weighs only 1.1 KG.

The increased storage makes this a much more attractive product in 2022. For some it can be their main computer but for most it will be the travel companion with a desktop as the mothership.
