OPPO Australia has announced the release of the OPPO A5 5G, the latest addition to its popular A Series, priced at $299. The OPPO A5 5G arrives alongside the recently launched OPPO A5 Pro 5G, emphasising a combination of long-lasting battery performance and robust design.
According to OPPO Australia’s Managing Director, Michael Tran, the A Series has long been a favourite in Australia, and the OPPO A5 5G takes this to the next level by integrating features most valued by consumers: extended battery life, enhanced durability, and advanced AI technology.
Durability is a key feature of the OPPO A5 5G, as it is built to withstand everyday wear and tear with IP65 water and dust resistance. The device also boasts Military-Grade Shock Resistance and a double-tempered glass screen, designed to handle demanding conditions.
The OPPO A5 5G sets a new standard in its price range with a 6,000mAh battery. OPPO’s exclusive centralised-tab battery design allows for up to 18.86 hours of YouTube streaming, 22.4 hours of voice calls, or over 508 hours of standby time. The battery is designed to maintain over 80% of its original capacity after 1,700 charge cycles, which OPPO says is equivalent to a 5-year battery lifespan, an unusual feature for a phone in this price range. Additionally, the OPPO A5 5G supports 45W SUPERVOOC Flash Charge technology.
The OPPO A5 5G includes ColorOS 15, the Google Gemini AI assistant, and AI-powered photography tools for smart features. The phone’s camera setup consists of a 50MP Ultra-Clear Main Camera, a 2MP Depth Camera, and an 8MP Front Camera.
The OPPO A5 5G is built for smooth performance with a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 Mobile Platform, up to 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage, with the option to expand RAM. The phone also features a 1,000-nit Ultra Bright Display, 300% Ultra Volume Mode, and Seamless Cellular/Wi-Fi Network Switching 2.0 for enhanced visuals, audio, and connectivity.
In terms of design, the OPPO A5 5G maintains the A Series’ slim and lightweight profile, measuring 7.99mm in thickness and weighing 194g.
