DJI has embraced the tiny mic trend by launching the Mic Mini 2 wireless microphone with a colourful range of magnetic covers and windscreens. Mic Mini 2 and its predecessor are very similar, sharing specs and features like ultra-light 11g transmitters, 400m range, 48 kHz 24-bit audio, 11.5-hour runtime, and two-level noise cancellation.

MINOR DIFFERENCES
So what’s different besides the looks? Well, the Mic Mini 2 looks different and sounds different because of its three voice tone presets – Regular, Rich, and Bright. These tones enable you to lock in sound that suits the environment. What that radio/podcaster sound then select rich, want clear high-end results, select Bright.
Other than that, you have very little technical difference between the new model and the original. It also supports two-level noise cancellation for quieter indoor settings and noisier outdoor environments. Like its predecessor, Mic Mini 2 offers automatic limiting, five-level gain adjustment, and dual-track recording with the DJI Mimo app.
The upgraded DJI Mic Mini 2 Charging Case neatly holds the transmitter, receiver, and accessories. The smaller mobile version of the charging case can hold (1 TX + 1 Mobile RX). The mobile receiver connects via USB-C to a smartphone.
COMPATIBILITY
DJI Mic Mini 2 uses the DJI Mic Mini Receiver and can be easily paired with cameras, smartphones, computers, and tablets. The great thing about DJI devices is multigenerational compatibility. The DJI Mic Mini Receiver can be paired with the DJI Mic Mini and DJI Mic Mini 2. Meanwhile, the DJI Mic Series Mobile Receiver also supports the DJI Mic 3, offering 48kHz 24-bit mobile audio on the road, alongside the DJI Mic Mini and DJI Mic Mini 2. With DJI OsmoAudio Direct Connection, the Osmo Pocket 3, Osmo 360, Osmo Nano, Osmo Action 6, and other devices can connect directly with up to two DJI Mic Mini 2 Transmitters without an additional receiver, delivering 48kHz, 24-bit audio.
RUNTIME AND REACH
Transmission distance can reach up to 400 metres when used with the DJI Mic Mini Receiver in the DJI Mic Mini 2 (2 TX + 1 RX), and up to 300 metres with the mobile receiver in the DJI Mic Mini 2 (1 TX + 1 RX). Meanwhile, the transmitter and receiver can deliver up to 11.5 and 10.5 hours of operating time, respectively. A fully charged charging case can extend the battery life to 48 hours. The Mic Mini Receiver and the Mic Mini 2 Transmitter can be used for about 1 hour after just 5 minutes of charging. When the transmitter does not detect a signal from the receiver, it automatically enters sleep mode to conserve battery power.

The old days of hiding microphones are over. Led by the TikTok generation, content makers are using tiny wireless microphones as a prop in their viral videos. DJI has embraced the trend by offering interchangeable multi-coloured magnetic front covers for the Mini Mic 2. These allow creators to match their outfits and visual expression.
To offer an even wider range of colour options, DJI collaborated with internationally renowned illustrator Victo Ngai to create the DJI Mic Mini 2 Time Series Magnetic Front Covers.
