Hubbl is about to launch in Australia promising a simplified TV experience which has become bogged down by too many apps and services.
Run by the Foxtel Group, Hubbl is essentially a TV aggregator that brings together the biggest global and local apps in one manageable interface. This hardware/software solution is backed by Comcast USA and Sky UK.
For Hubbl to work it needs content providers on board. Hubbl channels include:
- Netflix
- Disney+
- Prime Video
- YouTube
- Apple TV+
- Paramount+
- Kayo Sports
- Stan
- BINGE
- Optus Sport
- ABC iView
- ABC Kids
- SBS On Demand
- 7plus
- 9Now
- 10 Play
Stan, Optus Sport and Paramount+ will join the Hubbl platform soon after launch.
Essentially Hubbl will take pain out of finding content across an ever increasing amount of content providers, new and traditional.
“Hubbl will effortlessly fuse free and paid entertainment and sport from Australia’s favourite apps, channels, live TV and the internet into one seamless user experience,” said Patrick Delany, CEO of Hubbl.
“Hubbl is only as good as the breadth and depth of apps integrated onto the platform to ensure a truly converged streaming experience and in removing frustration when it comes to the choice of what to watch. It’s a huge testament to the transformative Hubbl technology that these world-class and much loved local partners have chosen to reshape the streaming experience with us. The future of TV and streaming is here.”
Hubbl will also include LifeStyle, a new streaming app that brings together the best lifestyle content.
So what will Hubbl looke like? Very much like an Apple TV, Hubbl will live in a plug-in device for your TV. But there’s also another option. Hubbl Glass is an actual TV with Hubbl built in plus soundbar.
All you need is power and an Internet connection and you’re good to go.
So will Hubbl make a difference? Only time will tell and Image Matrix Tech will be among the first to try it out.
