Blackmagic Design has pushed through a significant update to its Blackmagic Camera app on iOS.
Version 2.0 adds support for remotely controlling and monitoring multiple iPhones at the same time. When you select your iPhone as the controller it will connect to other iPhones running Blackmagic Camera using a wired or Wi-Fi network.
You are able to view all of your cameras in a multi view, allowing you to monitor and control zoom, focus, white balance, frame rate, shutter angle or lens selection on an individual camera or adjust all connected cameras at the same time. You can also synchronise all cameras so they start and stop recording at the same time.
The update also adds support for Apple Silicon iPad Pros. This means you can use the iPad as a camera or as a controller. The larger screen offers more real estate to view details from the all the camera feeds. You’ll be able to see up to nine cameras on screen at one time, or scroll through each individual camera.
Update 2.0 also adds 100fps in HD on iPhone 15 Pro and the badly needed option to select multiple clips in the media tab. This is makes it a lot easier to copy or delete, all at once.
This update offers similar features that Apple offers through Final Cut Pro.
