Image Matrix Tech on Sky News: ABBA Virtual Concert – Belkin Face Tracker – Weber BBQ app

0

In Sunday’s segment on Sky News Australia (Weekend Edition with Tim Gilbert) we took a look at the technology behind ABBA’ s virtual reunion tour.

Created by visual effects masters ILM (Industrial Light and Magic) ABBA’s virtual concert series could be a pointer to future musical events.

I show my own experience with Weta Digital in NZ where the Planet of the Apes trilogy was captured using similar technology.

We also play with Belkin’s new face tracking mount.

Designed for iPhone 12 MagSafe phones, the battery-powered magnetic mount can rotate through 360 degrees while tracking your face.

And, on Father’s Day, we check out Weber’s new barbie app.

Using a smartphone you can place a virtual version of any Weber BBQ in your yard.

The mixed reality app means you’ll see a realistic version of a BBQ on your phone with tips on which barbie is best for your family.

It will make you hungry just looking at it.
