We have new colourful iMacs coming, and they all have Apple’s latest M6 chip squeezed into their thin frames. The iMac is usually anchored to a desk, but over the years, I’ve taken previous models all over the world. The iMac with Apple silicon is extremely fast with a low footprint on tables or benches.

It features a faster CPU and GPU with Neural Accelerators in each core. I had several Intel-based iMacs, so this is a big step up for me with up to 18x faster performance than the most popular Intel-based iMac. Combined with the Dual 16-core Neural Engine, the new iMac delivers up to 5x faster on-device AI performance than M4.

The new iMac brings colour and performance to any desktop situation

This means users can take advantage of Siri AI and Apple Intelligence features across apps and macOS, running local AI models, or vibe coding. Connectivity gets a boost with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, along with available 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet and storage that is up to 2x faster.

Of course, an iMac is nothing without its display. This model comes with a 24-inch 4.5K Retina screen; 12MP camera, up to four Thunderbolt 4 ports; colour-matched accessories; and the power of macOS 27. The iMac is available in seven colours — blue, green, pink, yellow, purple, orange, and silver.
