OnMed’s CareStation was a huge hit a CES this year and it’s easy to see why. It’s essentially a ‘Clinic-in-a-Box’ that can be placed anywhere to offer a health checkup.

The 2.59m x 3.25m booth provides traditional clinic-based care with the latest remote diagnostic technology. All you need is a power outlet and away you go. CareStation is already operating in 6 states in the United States. Places like homeless shelters, community centres, county jail, state employers, universities and more. OnMed predicts that CareStations will be operational across 30 states by the end of 2025.

A number of tests can be performed under the supervision of a medical professional on the big screen. It even cleans itself after the consultation.

OnMed CareStation Features:

  • Advanced Diagnostic Tools: Equipped with HD cameras, stethoscopes, pulse oximeters, thermal imaging, and automated blood pressure cuffs.
  • Cutting-Edge Sanitisation: Utilises UV-C light systems, antimicrobial materials, and air filters for cleanliness after every use.
  • Hybrid Care Delivery: Merges the scalability of virtual healthcare with the comfort of human-led consultations.
  • Easy Deployment: Requires only a power outlet, making it accessible in underserved communities, universities, airports, and corporate campuses.

Obviously a face-to-face meeting with a physician is preferred but in some places that’s simply not possible. Even getting doctors to work in country towns is a challenge, so something like CareStation can only benefit the community.
