Razer has announced its new Hammerhead V3 HyperSpeed gaming earbuds, designed for players who want a single pair that handles both gaming and everyday use across multiple devices.

The key feature here is dual wireless connectivity. The earbuds support a low-latency 2.4GHz connection via Razer’s HyperSpeed system, designed for gaming, where audio delay matters, as well as Bluetooth 6.0 for general use on phones and other devices. Switching between the two modes is handled through the included charging case, which doubles as a wireless receiver when a USB-C dongle is inserted.

Charging the case is as simple as a USB-C cable

That case is doing a bit more work than usual. It can plug directly into a device to enable the 2.4GHz connection while also charging the earbuds at the same time, effectively acting as both a transmitter and a power source. For people moving between a PC, handheld console and phone, it removes the need to constantly re-pair or swap accessories.

AUDIO AND BATTERY

On the audio side, the Hammerhead V3 HyperSpeed includes hybrid active noise cancellation, with Razer claiming a noticeable improvement over the previous generation. There’s also support for spatial audio on PC, delivering a virtual surround sound effect designed to improve positional awareness in games.

Battery life is rated at up to 40 hours in total, with around 10 hours from the earbuds themselves and another 30 hours provided by the charging case. That puts them in line with other premium wireless earbuds, with enough capacity for extended gaming sessions or travel.

Controls are handled through on-ear touch inputs, and further customisation is available through Razer’s software on PC and mobile.

The case provides charge to the earbuds for all-day use

Alongside the main model, Razer is also releasing the Hammerhead V3 X HyperSpeed. This version trims things back slightly, using Bluetooth 5.3 instead of 6.0, but still keeps the 2.4GHz wireless support and the same case-based receiver concept for multi-platform use.

PRICE AND AVAILABILITY

The Razer Hammerhead V3 HyperSpeed is available now in Australia for AU$229.95, while the more affordable Hammerhead V3 X HyperSpeed comes in at AU$149.95. Both models are available through Razer’s online store and local retailers.
