Samsung’s foldables launch event is heading to New York on July 9, 2025 (that’s 12am in Sydney on the July 10). Like Unpacked earlier this year, this event will be all about AI and how it works in foldables.
Now to be clear, Samsung hasn’t stated that the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 will be unveiled but we’re pretty sure they will be, so we’re going to run with that. I mean what else could it be?
It will be interesting to see where Samsung goes with its next foldable units. I really want to see them significantly improve the cameras to flagship level. The S25 Ultra is a beast of a phone and the new Fold should match or even exceed it in performance. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold was my phone of the year in 2024 but there’s a chance Samsung could reclaim the title if it delivers more than just AI.
The Flip is a great little device too and I’m also hoping for better battery life and camera performance.
