Samsung is rolling out a trio of new innovations, including a new portable speaker range for Australia, an expanded remote management service for smart appliances, and new IoT security certifications for its smart home devices.

New Sound Tower Range

Get ready to turn up the volume! Samsung is launching its new Sound Tower range in Australia in 2026. The new lineup includes two models, the ST50F and the ST40F, which are designed to provide an immersive party experience with powerful sound, customisable lighting, and long-lasting battery life.

These speakers are built for both indoor and outdoor use. The ST50F model features a telescopic handle and wheels for easy transport, while the ST40F has an integrated handle. The sound is delivered through Samsung’s Waveguide technology, which ensures a wide and even soundstage. You can also fine-tune your audio with four different sound modes: Standard, Wide, Stadium, and Outdoor.

The Sound Tower also features the Party Lights + system, which syncs dozens of LEDs to the beat of the music. You can choose from five mood presets and six dynamic lighting patterns using the Samsung Sound Tower App. For even more fun, the speakers have built-in DJ Booth and Karaoke modes, along with a guitar input, to turn any space into a live stage.

Sound Tower ST50F Specifications:

  • 240W output
  • Long-lasting battery life
  • 6.5″ dual woofers
  • 25mm dual dome tweeters
  • Telescopic handle + wheels

Sound Tower ST40F Specifications:

  • 160W output
  • Long-lasting battery life
  • 5.25″ dual woofers
  • 20mm dual dome tweeters
  • Integrated handle

Remote Appliance Management and Security

Samsung has also expanded its Home Appliances Remote Management (HRM) service globally, which is now available in 122 countries, including Australia. The service connects SmartThings-enabled appliances to Samsung’s service network, allowing for real-time monitoring and remote diagnostics with customer consent. This means that service advisors can remotely access data like refrigerator temperatures and dryer moisture levels to help with troubleshooting. This new service can help solve simple problems without needing a technician visit, and for more complex issues, it allows technicians to arrive prepared with the correct parts, reducing repair time.

Samsung SmartThings has seen upgrades to usability and customer service options

Additionally, Samsung has announced that its Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam, Jet Bot Combo, and Bespoke AI Refrigerators have earned IoT security certification from TÜV Nord, a global certification organisation. This marks the first time Samsung’s digital appliances have received this certification, which is based on strict criteria for data encryption, authentication, and secure software updates. According to Jeong Seung Moon, Executive Vice President at Samsung Electronics, this certification validates the strength of their security technologies and their commitment to protecting customer data. The new Bespoke AI Refrigerators, for example, use Knox Matrix for mutual security checks between devices and Knox Vault to secure sensitive personal information.

With these new releases, Samsung is really showing its dedication to not just cool tech but also to making our lives easier and safer. By blending powerful sound with smart features and top-notch security, they’re setting a new standard for modern living. As Samsung keeps expanding its SmartThings ecosystem and bringing AI into more products, it’s creating a future where our homes are not just smart but truly seamless and secure.
