Sony has announced a new Wireless Shooting Grip (GP-VPT3) and Remote Commander (RMT-VP2) for Alpha and Vlog Cameras. At its simplest, it helps reduce camera shake due to the position of the grip. When you add the RMT-VP2 remote you get a number of camera controls that make content gathering far easier. The results are smoother too because you don’t need to touch the camera body.

As the remote is detachable, you can start and stop your piece-to-camera (PTC) from a distance or zoom in for better framing. It can handle cameras up to 1.5 kilos and it comes in black and white.

FEATURES

  • Functions as both a tripod and a detachable remote control for versatile shooting
  • One-touch switch for seamless transition between self-portrait and outward-facing modes
  • Adjustable tilt mechanism enables flexible shooting angles for creative composition
  • Detachable remote commander includes MOVIE, Zoom/Focus and customisable C1 buttons for easy one-handed operation
  • Helps reduce camera shake in low-light settings and allows the photographer to be part of group shots
  • Available in black and white (Model: GP-VPT3)
  • Compatible RMT-VP2 remote control available separately

The GP-VPT3 and the RMT-VP2 will be available in Australia from July 2025.
