Amazon’s latest Echo Show 8 is finally coming to Australia this month.
The third generation device has a new industrial design, faster processing, Matter/Zigbee/Thread compatibility and enhanced audio. It’s priced at A$249 with preorders now active ahead of general availability on August 22.

There’s no need for a separate hub as the gen 3 model supports Matter, Zigbee and Thread, enabling easy pairing and control of compatible smart home devices. Manage compatible cameras, lights and more using the display or your voice, or activate routines with movement. It slso supports connectivity via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
The best places for the Echo Show 8 3rd gen are the kitchen, living room or home office. The enhanced audio produces improved clarity and bass, with room adaptation technology and room-filling spatial audio processing.
The 8-inch HD display gives you access to your favourite content and video calls are improved with a centred, auto-framing 13-megapixel camera. The enhanced audio pipeline also minimises background noise.
The upgraded processor means the Echo Show 8 will now enable Alexa to process common smart home requests 40% faster.
The Echo Show 8 third gen is now available for pre-order from Amazon and JB Hi-Fi for A$249. It comes in Glacier White and Charcoal. Shipping will commence on August 22.
