GravaStar has launched its V60 Pro gaming keyboard in Australia, bringing its latest Hall Effect magnetic switch tech into a compact 60% layout. It’s a smaller, more focused take on the same formula seen in its larger boards—but with a few refinements aimed at improving performance and feel.
THE HARDWARE
The V60 Pro is built around Hall Effect magnetic switches, which detect keystrokes based on distance rather than physical contact. That enables faster, more consistent actuation than traditional mechanical switches, particularly in fast-paced gaming scenarios.
GravaStar’s new UFO Magnetic switches retain a full 3.5mm key travel, but aim to smooth out the experience with tighter tolerances and reduced wobble. A longer spring is used to help prevent accidental presses, giving each keystroke a more controlled and deliberate feel.
The keyboard also leans into a deeper, more muted sound profile thanks to a closed-bottom switch design, avoiding the higher-pitched clack often associated with mechanical boards. Underneath it all is a full aluminium chassis, giving the board a solid, premium weight and durability.
This is a wired-only keyboard via USB-C, with per-key RGB lighting, onboard profile switching, and full programmability. The 60% layout removes the function row and navigation cluster entirely, freeing up desk space but shifting more reliance onto layered inputs.
USER EXPERIENCE
If you’ve used GravaStar’s magnetic keyboards before, this will feel familiar—but refined.
In a previous review of the V75 Pro, the switches stood out for me as “tactical and responsive,” with a feel that ultimately came down to user preference around travel and sound. The V60 Pro builds on that same base, but tightens things up with smoother keystrokes, less noise, and more consistent actuation.
The smaller 60% layout is the biggest adjustment. For gaming, it’s a win—more desk space and cleaner positioning. For general use, there’s a learning curve as you rely more on function layers for everyday tasks.
Where the V60 Pro does improve is in control. The longer spring and refined switch design make it harder to accidentally trigger keys, which is particularly useful in competitive games where precision matters. At the same time, the smoother press and deeper sound profile make it more comfortable for longer typing sessions.
Overall, it’s a more polished take on the same magnetic switch experience—less raw, more controlled.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
The GravaStar V60 Pro is available now in Australia in Silver, Gunmetal and Crystal Onyx finishes, with a recommended retail price of $399.99 AUD. While the performance and build quality are there, it’s still a premium asking price—especially for a 60% keyboard in an increasingly competitive magnetic switch market.
