Image Matrix Tech on Sky News: FA 18 Retires – Sony A1 Delivers

0

In Sunday’s segment on Sky News Australia (Weekend Edition with Tim Gilbert) we looked as the retirement of the F/A-18 ‘Classic’ Hornet after 36 years service with the Royal Australian Airforce.

The Hornet will be replaced by the F-35A Lightning II.

When it comes to tech, nothing beats a fighter jet.

Aviation fans got their last chance to farewell the Hornet during Wings Over Illawarra Air Show.

SONY ALPHA 1 BEST IN SHOW

When it came to documenting the Air Show there was no better camera than the Sony A1 for the job.

Events like Wings over Illawarra prove without a doubt that smartphones can’t compete with real cameras.

Big sensors and big lenses win every time.

The Sony A1 is the best mirrorless camera on the market in my opinion.

Thanks to a 50MP sensor it does 8K video 4K super slow-mo and outstanding high-speed action photography.

Add a Sony FE 200-600mm f5.6-6.3 Series OSS Lens and you’re good to go.

Perfect for capturing flying jets.

FUJIFILM GFX 50S II

I also took the recently released Fujifilm GFX 50S II for a spin.

Packing a 50MP MEDIUM FORMAT sensor this is a wonderful camera for landscapes and portraits.

I spent more time using the A1 due to its video, fast focus and frames per second capabilities.

But I’m looking forward to testing the 50SII on other projects.

LG XBOOM 360

It’s time to party and there a several portable speakers on the market.

The LG XBOOM 360 portable speaker that fills the space with high-quality, omnidirectional audio.

Three different mood lighting presets including ‘ambient’, ‘nature’ and ‘party’.

‘DJ Effect’, which allows for the mixing of multiple samples, scratching and other sound effects through the LG XBOOM companion app.

BLUEANT X4

Aussie company BlueAnt has released a smaller version of the X5 portable speaker.

The X4 is a a powerful 50-Watt party speaker that weighs 2.6kg.

It’s IP54 splash proof, comes with a performance microphone and lasts for up to 12 hours per charge.

And .. not sure why .. you can connect up to 100 X4 speakers at a time in party mode.
