Razer has expanded its esports keyboard range with the launch of the Huntsman V3 HE Magnetic 8KHz line, introducing two new Hall Effect magnetic keyboard models aimed at competitive gamers seeking faster response times, customisable controls and lower input latency.
The Hardware
Available in both Tenkeyless and compact 65% Mini form factors, the new keyboards combine Razer’s Hall Effect Magnetic Switches with an 8,000Hz polling rate and a range of software-driven features designed to give players greater control over every keystroke. According to Razer, the keyboards are intended to complement, rather than replace, its existing analogue optical keyboard range, offering a dedicated option for players who prefer magnetic switch technology.
At the heart of the new lineup are Hall Effect switches that use magnetic sensing instead of traditional mechanical contacts. The switches feature adjustable actuation between 0.1mm and 4.0mm, allowing users to tailor each key for ultra-sensitive competitive play or a deeper press for everyday typing. Rapid Trigger Mode also enables keys to reset dynamically based on movement rather than a fixed reset point, helping players perform repeated inputs more quickly during fast-paced games. The switches are rated for up to 100 million keystrokes.
Performance is another major focus. Razer says the keyboards’ true 8,000Hz HyperPolling significantly reduces the time between a keypress and the signal reaching the PC. The company claims internal testing measured an average input latency of 0.60 milliseconds, approximately eight per cent faster than the closest competing Hall Effect keyboard tested under the same conditions.
Extra Features
The Huntsman V3 HE Magnetic 8KHz also introduces several advanced input features. Snap Flex allows two actions to be assigned to a single key—one when pressed and another when released—while Dynamic Keystroke supports up to four different actions depending on how deeply a key is pressed. Instant Cancel Control lets players interrupt unintended follow-up actions, and Dual-Keypress Priority is designed to maintain consistent movement when multiple directional keys are pressed simultaneously.
Beyond gaming performance, Razer says it has refined the keyboard’s typing feel with smoother keystrokes and a more balanced acoustic profile to improve comfort during extended gaming sessions and everyday use.
Configuration options have also been expanded. In addition to support through the Razer Synapse desktop application and onboard controls, users can now access Synapse Web, enabling browser-based configuration without installing software. Settings can then be saved directly to onboard profiles, making it easier to move between home systems, shared PCs and tournament setups.
