Telstra is rolling out its most powerful modem yet, the Smart Modem 4, bringing cutting-edge Wi-Fi 7 technology and a new level of home connectivity to its customers. Designed to provide a more reliable, faster, and more secure internet experience, the new modem is packed with features aimed at improving your digital life.

Next-Generation Wi-Fi

The standout feature of the Smart Modem 4 is its use of Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be), the latest and most advanced Wi-Fi standard. This technology offers faster theoretical speeds, greater bandwidth, and a stronger signal with better range. A new feature called Multi-Link Operation (MLO) allows Wi-Fi 7-compatible devices to connect to both the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands simultaneously, creating a smarter and more efficient network connection. The modem also uses “beamforming” to focus the Wi-Fi signal directly to your devices, ensuring more consistent speeds across your home.
