We’re starting the year off by recognising a couple of outstanding PR and Media Comms people for the month of January 2024. These are the people who ensure we get review devices on time while answering the tough questions. It’s important to note that while these operators help facilitate news and reviews, they have no say in our stories. If it’s good tech, it gets a good review, if it’s bad, it gets canned. Or a mixture of both. The good comms people accept this and will defend a journo’s right to be critical.
Having stated all that, on with the winners.

Owner Salvatore Di Muccio gets our TOP OPERATOR AWARD for his rapid responses to requests for review devices for Image Matrix Tech and Sky News Weekend Edition.
Over the holiday period Salvatore ensured Image Matrix Tech could get our hands on a newly released EH-LS650 Ultra Short Throw Laser Projector from Epson. Not easy to execute, but Sal had it delivered in a couple of days. Review coming soon by the way.
‘Sal’ is much loved by the tech journalistic community and with good reason. He’s a top bloke and straight shooter who gets the job done. Without fail.
The other brilliant turnaround involved another of Sal’s big clients, D-Link. A new Mesh Router was released in Australia, the AQUILA PRO AI M30. They were moving fast but once again Sal got his hands on one. The result? It got a great run on our Weekend Edition segment just a few days later.

This is a consistent performance trait. Alway, always delivers. I also work with Sal on professional broadcast stories. Image Matrix Tech is often asked for opinions on broadcast and production technology.

So it’s with great pleasure that we announce Christine Law, Senior Communications Manager MX, Corporate Marketing, Samsung Electronics Australia as BEST IN-HOUSE JAN 2024.
Christine runs Samsung’s mobile phone Media Experience in Australia and it was a big month for the team. The launch of the S24 series was brilliantly executed and as a TV and video media outlet, Image Matrix Tech appreciates the work done.
We got access to the handsets before launch, had them for Sky News Weekend Edition and we are currently shooting more reviews with the devices. All this helps us to better inform the public ahead of launch.

WHY IS IMAGE MATRIX TECH DOING THIS?
The process of creating great review videos can’t happen without the help of competent, energetic, sharp media relations comms people. They send out the info, supply the product and help answer our technical questions so we can better inform the public.
PR/Comms people are often easy targets. We want to change that.
So that’s why on the first day of every month, Image Matrix Tech will be acknowledging the best comms people and agencies we deal with for our tech coverage from the previous month.
Yes, there are bad ones but they’ll never get a mention in these awards.
It’s all about being positive.
