Nokia XR21 – Military Grade Smartphone with good looks

0

Nokia has just announced the XR21, a military tough smartphone, that doesn’t look like a brick. It’s been certified for MIL-STD-810H durability, making it drop-proof, dust-proof and waterproof.

In addition, during internal testing, the Nokia XR21 survived being dropped from 1.8m, as well as being submerged in 1.5m of water for up to an hour, and hit with the same pressure as a 1450 PSI jet of water with a water temperature of 80°C heat.

The Nokia XR21 is housed in die-cast 100% recycled aluminium chassis and Corning® Gorilla® Glass Victus® display.

“We know Australians love their smartphones and that they go through a lot of wear and tear in their lifetime,” said Brenden Folitarik, HMD Global’s Country Manager for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

“From parents of toddlers, to tradies and outdoor adventure-lovers, the Nokia XR21 has been built for every day and for everyone.

“We’re so confident, you can take the Nokia XR21 anywhere in Australia where you can capture those special moments, and should the worst happen, we offer a one-year screen replacement guarantee,” Brenden added.

Key features of the Nokia XR21 include:

  • Survive being dropped from 1.8m high
  • Last in 1.5m of water for up to an hour
  • Withstand a 100-bar pressure water jet at 80°C
  • Operate in temperatures between -20°C and +55°C
  • Capture imagery at night thanks to a double flash camera and advanced low light imaging capabilities
  • Be used with wet hands and gloves
  • Keep you going with 2-day battery, and fast charging should you need to make a pit stop

Long battery life and heat resistant

The XR21 can last two days between charges. It can also ‘survive’ and be used in temperatures between -20°C to +55°C.

And the 6.49” screen can be used with wet hands, in the rain, or while wearing gloves.

Tough and smart

The best AI-powered imaging algorithms found on Nokia devices like AI Portrait, Night Mode 2.0, and Flash Shot ensure you capture memories in excellent quality.

For noisy environments, the 96 dB stereo speakers come with Audio boost mode, help you hear amped up sounds over background noise. And two Quick Access buttons let you get to your favourite apps and features even quicker. Stereo speakers with OZO playback deliver immersive sound to pick up every detail of videos, songs and podcasts.

Secure

The Nokia XR21 guarantees four years of monthly security updates, three years of OS upgrades, three years of warranty and a one-year screen replacement guarantee.

Pricing and availability

The new Nokia XR21 will be available in Midnight Black and Pine Green from JB-HiFi in mid May, from $799.
