OPPO’s latest mid-range tablet, the OPPO Pad Neo, is now available in Australia and these are our first impressions.
First, the 11.4-inch 2.4K ReadFit screen with a 7:5 aspect ratio is ideal for reading. 7:5 is really like having a book in your hand. Compared with conventional 5:3 tablet displays with similar diagonal screen lengths, the OPPO Pad Neo offers nearly 7% additional screen area.
The 2.4K screen is 2408 x 1720 pixels at a density of 260PPI. It covers 96% NTSC colour gamut with 400 nits peak brightness. Good stats but it is best viewed indoors.
When is comes to sound, this tablet is loud. It has Dolby Atmos® and quad-speakers so movies look and sound good.
The tablet weighs in at 538 grams and the camera bump at the back is a neat design feature.

- 8000mAh Battery,33W SUPERVOOCTM Flash Charging

Out of the box we found the Pad Neo very responsive thanks to MediaTek Helio G99 processor.
When it comes to eye care OPPO has included hardware-level low blue light technology and a Smart Colour Temperature Adjustment mode. The OPPO Pad Neo can help reduce eyestrain and minimise disruption to sleep patterns caused by over-exposure to blue screen light. The screen is also the first to receive Circadian Friendly and Full Care Display 2.0 certifications from TÜV Rheinland.
The Pad Neo has an 8,000mAh battery, offering quick recharging and all-day use with the combination of a 33W SUPERVOOC™ flash charger.
The cameras are basic but usable for a tablet at this level. Two 8MP cameras, front and back.

When the Pad Neo is placed near a compatible phone, the two devices can automatically connect to unlock a suite of cross-device features.
