Flight Risk, one of the latest e-Bikes to launch in Australia has made battery safety its top priority for local riders.
E-Bikes and similar personal transport vehicles need a powerful battery to move at lot of weight around for many hours. This means the battery and the charger have to work together to ensure safe operation and storage at home.

“What we have done is spent months with our engineers designing a charger that not only charges, but safely charges,” said Flight Risk Founder, Abraham Mikhail.
“And the technology that we’ve put inside these chargers is not only just to charge the bike safely, but to recognise if your battery has an issue, if it’s overcharging or that it’s overheating.”
Mikhail told Image Matrix Tech that Flight Risk sourced the highest quality chargers and batteries he could find and although it adds to the cost, it’s worth it.
“Our chargers .. they’re not cooled by fans where a lot of other chargers have fans inside to cool them down. This one solid hard unit does absolutely everything.”

It’s also important to remember that the rider needs to be responsible when on the road and they ensure they are peddling while getting assistance from the electric motor. These bikes come 25km/h locked – so if you want to go faster, you’ll have to pedal like hell.
The laws on electric bikes vary from state-to-state so make sure you’re familiar with them when riding on the road or bike paths.
Of course these bikes have no restrictions if they are being used off-road, which I thoroughly recommend giving a go, if you can find a spot. Make sure sure you’re protected with a helmet and appropriate clothing.

Reliable battery technology is at the core of these new e-Bikes. But there’s a lot more to Flight Risk than battery chargers and a catchy brand name. As a veteran motorbike rider I’ve taken a huge liking to the design of one model in particular.

The FR666 is a Harley inspired beast. It has a 52V 30Ah battery and a range of up to 100 km.

We’ll have a full review video coming your way soon so keep an eye out for it.
