In Sunday’s segment on Sky News Australia (Weekend Edition with Tim Gilbert) we looked Infalurt. It is an Australian designed, manufactured and owned in-car alert system that reminds parents their child is still in their car seat.
Each year thousands of Aussie kids are rescued after being left unattended in a car. But help is available thanks to locally developed technology. Infalurt has three simple components: a sensor that sits beneath the child seat, a control unit in an accessible position to the driver and a key fob alarm. The remote sensing technology sounds an alarm if the key holder leaves the car when a child is in the back seat.
SAMSUNG A-SERIES V IPHONE SE
Samsung latest A-series is impressive. They sold a million units last year and in my humble opinion – look just as good if not better – than some of the flagship models. Australia gets all full five A-series models: GalaxyA33 5G, A53 5G and A735G, as well as the A13 4G, A23 4G. Prices from: $329 to $799 AUD. The pick of the bunch when it comes to features and value .. the A53 5G. It’s $699 AUD. So how do they stack up against Apple’s cheap iPhone – SE? At first glance, really well. You get multiple cameras, long battery life and big bright screens.
But Apple sub $1K AUD phone comes with a powerful A15 chip, Touch ID (love that) and updated camera. So you’ll have a fast phone that takes nice photos but you one have one lens. And … no night mode. Prices from: $719 to $969 AUD.
So when it comes to photo options the A-Series wins that one. It also wins the style competition because although the SE is powerful – it looks dated with that massive bezel. But for less than a thousand dollars the 2022 SE will give you years of iOS support to come.
