Image Matrix Tech on Sky News: Samsung QD OLED reviewed

0

In Sunday’s segment on Sky News Australia (Weekend Edition with Tim Gilbert) took a look at Samung’s new QD-OLED TV, S95B. Samsung is the world’s biggest TV company and by re-entering the OLED market it will force downward pressure on prices on traditional OLED models.

I spent some time with the 65 inch S95B this week and it’s easily the best TV that Samsung makes.  It uses QD-OLED technology which combines Quantum Dot and OLED for an ever better picture result than normal OLED sets.

The panels are made by Samsung Display and they also sell them to Sony. Sony has a stunning QD-OLED – A95K – that just edges out its Samsung rival overall but it costs $1500 more to own. There are areas where the Samsung model outperforms the Sony and if you’re a gamer the S95B is absolutely the way to go. The Samsung S95B is selling for $4 495 AUD while the A95K will set you back $5 995 AUD. For many the choice is right there.

These are best TVs you can buy – no doubt – for pure colour and performance. Better than even the best LG OLEDs.

GOOGLE PLAY GAMES PC BETA NOW IN AUSTRALIA

Google Play Games beta is now available on PCs for all Australians. Over the last few months Google doubled its titles more than 50. These games can be played on Windows PCs via a standalone application built by Google. They’ve also reduced the minimum specs to run Google Play Games. Players who have a Windows 10+ PC with an integrated graphics card and 4+ core CPU can now access Google Play Games.

Google Pass costs $7.99 p/m or $49.99 p/y.
