Image Matrix Tech on Sky News: Google Passkeys

0

In Sunday’s segment on Sky News Australia (Weekend Edition with Tim Gilbert) we took a look at Google’s rollout of Passkeys.

Passkeys are being developed to get rid of passwords which are often cracked by hackers.

Passkeys let users sign in to apps and sites the same way they unlock their devices: with a fingerprint, a face scan or a screen lock PIN. And, unlike passwords, passkeys are resistant to online attacks like phishing, making them more secure than things like SMS one-time codes.

Google’s move will hopefully push everyone else to adopt passkeys faster.
