Australian electronics brand LASER has expanded its retro-themed product lineup, adding a series of cassette players, turntables, gaming devices and novelty speakers aimed at consumers looking for simpler forms of entertainment away from phones and social media.

The company says interest in retro technology products has increased significantly over the past year, reflecting broader consumer interest in vinyl records, physical media, older gaming systems and analogue-style devices. While much of the marketing around “retro tech” leans heavily into nostalgia, the latest products largely combine familiar old-school designs with modern connectivity features such as Bluetooth, USB playback and rechargeable batteries.

LASER’s new range covers music playback, portable gaming, and home entertainment, targeting consumers who want the look and feel of older technology without sacrificing compatibility with modern devices and who enjoy a little nostalgia.

LASER Retro Portable Cassette Boombox

The Retro Portable Cassette Boombox takes styling cues from 1970s and 1980s portable stereos but includes modern playback options beyond cassette tapes. Alongside tape playback, the unit supports Bluetooth streaming, USB and microSD playback, plus AM/FM radio.

The device also includes bass and treble controls, stereo speakers and the ability to record audio from Bluetooth or other connected sources directly onto cassette tapes. It can operate via mains power or batteries for portable use.

LASER Retro Bluetooth Turntable with Built-In Speakers

LASER’s suitcase-style Bluetooth turntable is aimed at entry-level vinyl listenerswho wantg a compac,t all-in-one setup without external speakers or amplifiers.

The turntable supports 33, 45 and 78 RPM records and includes integrated stereo speakers. Bluetooth support allows audio streaming from phones or tablets, while AUX, RCA and headphone connections provide additional playback options.

Its lightweight suitcase-style design also makes it more portable than traditional home hi-fi turntables.

LASER Retro Lava Lamp with Bluetooth Speaker

Combining a traditional lava lamp with a Bluetooth speaker, this device blends decorative lighting with basic wireless audio playback.

The unit supports Bluetooth audio streaming as well as wired playback through a 3.5mm AUX connection. While clearly designed as a novelty product, it reflects the broader trend of retro-inspired home décor being paired with modern wireless technology.

LASER Gaming Projector

The Gaming Projector is the most feature-heavy product in the lineup, combining a portable projector with built-in retro gaming software.

LASER says the system includes more than 80 preloaded games and supports ROM emulation for a range of older gaming platforms including NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Sega Mega Drive, Game Boy and Atari systems.

Rather than requiring a separate console, the projector is designed as a self-contained gaming and entertainment unit that can project gameplay onto larger surfaces for multiplayer or casual gaming sessions.

LASER Handheld Retro Console

The Handheld Retro Console focuses on portable gaming, featuring a 3.5-inch display and 50 preloaded licensed games.

The handheld includes dual joysticks, USB-C charging and a 3000mAh rechargeable battery. It also supports emulation for several classic gaming systems including NES, SNES, Sega Mega Drive and NeoGeo titles.

Wi-Fi multiplayer support is also included, giving the handheld some modern online functionality despite its retro gaming focus.
